Natural Furniture Polish

Over the weekend, David tried his hand at making some all natural furniture polish/varnish, and what a success it was!

Using a beeswax base, the varnish brought up our timber door beautifully. It has the sap from the Australian native turpentine tree in it so there is a eucalyptus type of scent to it.

I'm a happy woman as I now have the beautiful scents of honey AND eucalyptus-ish flowing through the home.

Here are some pics of the door that we used the polish on...

Netting Apples

We netted our apple tree today. This is the first year that we have bothered to net the trees. This year we're getting so much fruit that we don't want to lose it to the birds! We haven't netted the mulberry tree but we did the apple today and will do the mango tree tomorrow.

Netted baby apples ...

Vege Harvest!

Today we harvested a few of our veges to use in dinner. Here's what we pulled: some snow peas, carrots and baby leek. The carrots crack me up. They are called "roley poley" carrots and are essentially like growing the stub part of the carrots that you would usually throw away. I bought them not properly reading the tag.
